Random Rant

"The ability to let that which truly doesn't matter, slide" This is a quote from (spoiler alert) the Super-Ego alternate Tyler Durden played by Brad Pitt in the movie Fight Club. Not familiar? Ok how about this one? "Don't sweat the small stuff" These quotes are basically imploring us as people to not make a bigger deal out of things than need to be made. If something is minor, lets leave it that way. Lets not dwell on it, lets not fester in it, lets not amplify, or exaggerate it. Let us let those things which are minor issues just slide. We even have a phrase in the english language for such occurrences. "No Sweat" This phrase makes it so simple to express that one is not stressing over a situation. I said all of this to preface a story...

On Sunday 2/28/10 while in Orlando preparing to hit the road back to Miami again me and my Uncle, who was driving the Penske moving truck we were in. We were pulling out of a really tight parking spot and "nicked" a guys car, a Nissan 350z to be specific. He ran up and stopped us by beating on my window, and screaming. "YOU HIT MY CAR, THANKS ALOT!" Having not felt the familiar jolt of making legitimate impact with an automobile I jumped out to asses the damage. Like i said a scrape at best, but definitely not a "hit". We explain that we have insurance and he explains that he has to call the cops to get a report. He tells the truth....no one is hurt, the car has no major damage, it is still drivable, and we are still on the scene and cooperating. Now during the next 90 minutes we "wipe away" the dust to reveal the damage(which I will post for you to judge) which i felt was minimal. We sat and waited until the sun went down on us, i even took aboout a 30 minute nap. The guy then calls the cops back and is told. "sorry we only have one car in that are and it is called to an emergency so we can't come." The guy is crushed. We exchange info and we leave. Thanks prick for wasting 1.5hrs of my life and making me not get home in time to catch 'How To Make It In America"! Ok got that off my chest now take a look at what all of that was about... SMH
